SEL Expert Program Levels

Qualify your company at any expert level, beginning with the SEL Expert Silver Level and continuing to the higher SEL Expert Gold Level and finally the highest SEL Expert Blue Level. Each level has associated training and skill requirements.

A company can have Blue Level expertise for integration/automation services and Silver Level expertise for protection services at the same time.

Partnership Level Integration/Automation Protection
Silver Level Able to perform basic communication and integration with SEL communications processors. Understand and apply the basic concepts and procedures associated with setting and using SEL relays, including developing protective relay settings and communicating with SEL relays.
  Integration/Automation Qualifications Protection Qualifications
 
Gold Level Silver Level skill set plus demonstrated ability to use additional protocols and basic integration with non-SEL devices. Experience on electric power projects demonstrating capability of applying, developing, and calculating protective relay settings for SEL relays.
  Integration/Automation Qualifications Protection Qualifications
 
Blue Level Gold Level skill set plus demonstrated detailed knowledge of SEL control systems. Experience on power system projects demonstrating capability of developing and calculating system-wide protective relay settings for a system of SEL relays.
